PR pipe (PPR pipe) is a random copolymer polypropylene pipe made from type III polypropylene.
PPR pipe uses heat fusion connection technology and features economical price, heat resistance and insulation (with an external insulation layer for better insulation performance), corrosion resistance, smooth inner wall to prevent scaling, and no internal or external threaded joints. Its service life can reach 50 years.
This pipe is mainly used in building water supply and drainage, urban and rural water supply and drainage, urban gas transmission, and industrial fluid transmission, and is especially suitable for embedded pipe construction in walls or deep wells. By 2015, the market share of plastic pipes was expected to exceed 60%. Its specifications are expressed by pipe series S, nominal outer diameter, and wall thickness. Common specifications include S5 and S4 series, corresponding to different pressure ratings. Professional personnel must operate specialized tools during construction to ensure the quality of the heat fusion connection.
